Beliefs Castlehill Baptist church is an evangelical church. That means that we believe that the Bible is the complete word of God and that as committed Christians we should seek to make Christ Lord of every aspect of our lives. We practice believers' baptism - which means that when someone recognises their need of Christ and commits their life to serving Him, he or she is baptised by immersion, symbolising their desire to 'die to self' and to live for Christ. However, we are an open membership church which means that if someone was baptised as an infant and holds a firm conviction of the validity of that baptism, we do not see that as an issue for refusing membership. Therefore, under such circumstances we will welcome people into membership who have not been baptised as believers. Hence the membership at Castlehill Baptist Church consists of people from many different denominational backgrounds. The only necessary requirement for membership is a living commitment to Jesus Christ.
