Groups

Our Church consists of one body, made up of many individuals. Here we are, gathered together for a 'family' photo.

Castlehill Baptist has a number of different groups which meet on Sunday's and throughout the week.

Deacons

As a Baptist church we practice congregational church government, where the whole church makes decisions at quarterly meetings. However the general day to day running of the church and it's pastoral needs is overseen by the minister and seven elected deacons. Deacons meet monthly.

Minister: Rev Alan Wells Secretary: Grant Brooks Treasurer: Sarah Muir
Deacons: May Morgan
Phil Steed
David Gilchrist
Alan Shields

Crèche

There is a crèche provided on a Sunday morning for children of ages 0-4.

Livewires

Livewires meets on Sunday morning, and is for children of  school age groups P1-S3.

The children leave during the service and split into groups where there are activities, games and teaching on God's word. There are 8 leaders and about 30 children attend regularly on a Sunday.

Youth Fellowship

Youth fellowship meets in homes on Sunday evening after the service, and is for ages 12 upwards. The programme contains a wide variety of discussions, studies, fun, games and food.

For details of meetings and venues see notices.

Service in local nursing home

The church leads a monthly service on the 3rd Sunday of each month for residents in a local nursing home (Buchanan Lodge).

  • Monday, Tuesday or Thursday evening Fellowship groups

These are separate groups that meet in homes within the area on each of these evenings for times of Bible study, prayer & fellowship.

For details of meetings and venues see notices.

  • Ladies Bible Study Group

The Ladies Bible Study Group meet every Wednesday morning in homes within the area. It is a time of fellowship and prayer. There are regular Bible Studies, coffee mornings and visits from Tearfund.

For details of meetings see notices.

Alpha Course

The Church runs Alpha Courses which are an opportunity to learn about the Christian faith. The course lasts 10 weeks and meets in a home within the area. It involves a meal, followed by watching a video.

For details of meetings see notices.

Mission Committee

The  church promotes links with overseas missionaries and awareness of issues facing the church worldwide. This is overseen by the Mission Committee who meet regularly.

Prayer Chain

The prayer chain is a vital part in the support of the church and it's pastoral requirement. Urgent issues for prayer are quickly circulated through those on the chain.
