Maps 'Serving Christ, one another and the community' Castlehill Baptist Church - Where Are We Castlehill Baptist Church meets in the Castlehill Primary School, which is situated on Rosslyn Road, within the Castlehill area of Bearsden. Bearsden is a large suburb situated to the north west of Glasgow, within the East Dunbartonshire Council area, and can be accessed by car, bus and train. Bearsden is only 10 miles from Glasgow Airport. To the north of Bearsden lie the Campsie Hills. Bearsden is only 20 minutes away from Scotland's first National Park at Loch Lomond. Bearsden has a wide range of shops, restaurants and leisure facilities, with shops at Bearsden Cross only a mile from Castlehill. There are 2 secondary schools in Bearsden, Bearsden Academy and Boclair Academy. There are 7 primary schools within the area at Castlehill, Baljaffray, St. Andrew's (Catholic), Mosshead, Bearsden, Colquhoun and Westerton. Castlehill School is near the ruins of the Roman built Antonine Wall, and a Roman Fort named Castle Hill, from where the area takes it's name. Parts of the wall remain and are visible in the nearby Antonine Park. From the top of Castlehill there are superb views over the city of Glasgow, the River Clyde and westwards towards the Firth of Clyde. There is also an excellent example of a Roman Bath house nearby. The following map will help you find us. Directions How to get to Castlehill Baptist Church By Car:- Bearsden lies to the north-west of Glasgow. The 2 main routes from Glasgow to Bearsden are Maryhill Rd (A81) which runs from St Georges Cross (near to junction No. 17 of the M8) to Canniesburn Toll, and Bearsden Road (A809) which runs from Anniesland Cross to Canniesburn toll. From Canniesburn Toll, continue along Drymen Rd (A809), passing Bearsden Cross then continuing onto Duntocher Rd (A810). Turn left at the traffic lights into Nithsdale Crescent, and right into Rosslyn Road. Follow the road round to Castlehill school. Journey times form the city centre by car is about 25-30 minutes off peak. To travel to Bearsden from the west, pass through Clydebank, & Hardgate on Glasgow Road (A810). Continue to boundary with Bearsden, turn first right into Antonine Road. Continue down Antonine Road to Rosslyn Road, turn right and the school is on the left. There are plenty of car parking spaces at the school. Buses: A couple of companies operate bus services between Bearsden and Glasgow. First Bus. Glasgow City Bus Trains: Bearsden station is the closest station to Castlehill, and is on the Westerton to Milngavie line. Rail services are provided by First Scotrail, During the day there are 4 trains per hour from Glasgow Queen St & Glasgow Central.
